Winter is a time for clean colours, dark tones and natural skin, making it an intriguing season for make up. Season after season showcases barely there trends that show models with flawless skin and metallic eyes, plum lips and golden highlights. A/W 16 is all about asymmetric eyeliner, clean cut lines and abstract shapes, complimented by natural dewy skin and rose blush lips. For our beauty editorial, we wanted nothing more than to showcase these looks in a soft lit environment and show you how to do winter make up at its best.
After researching floatation for our health pages, we thought how unusual it would be to photograph inside one of the floatation pods, using the contained area for our models to float. The bare aesthetic required an environment that showed our models in their most vulnerable state where the water amplified their distinctive features and brought out the vividness in their eyes. Slick wet hair helped the make up to stay as the prime focus.
Our model Olivia sported a white eye and rose shimmered lip, with a flawless complexion, whilst Meg wore the same look but with a black liner. Our second look saw our models with plum lined lips and smokey eyes, all warmed through with our rose highlighter to stray away from being too cold.
We don’t want to give too much away, but see what we got up to behind the scenes and keep an eye out for our BTS video!
It might be a little bit naughty to show you some of the final edits, but we really couldn’t resist…
